La Republika

LA REPUBLIKA, is a band fused by four young men; Steven Cruz (leader, vocals and guitar), Luis Fernandez (piano), Kelvin Ventura (percussion, guitar and chorus) and Danny Espinal (guitar and chorus). They give life to a musical concept, which they defined as: “modern bachata or bachata pop”.

Their musical proposal is completely innovated within world music, although bachata is a very popular genre, LA REPUBLIKA, have created a touch of freshness and originality, and its evident that its members are all true musicians, thus creating a real band.

LA REPUBLIKA has gained great approval with their first single “QUE TE DIO EL” (What Did He Give You), a song that has captured many fans and peaked at Billboard’s Top 20 Charts and maintained its position for three consecutive months reaching the #9 spot in the Tropical Chart. And to top it off, their music video, has reached to date, over 250 thousand YouTube views.

“PERDONAME” (Forgive me), is the title of their new promotional single. Steven Cruz and Carlos Delgadillo wrote this song. Basically it’s a very romantic ballad. Referring to this new single, Steven said: “With this song I’m asking for forgiveness. For being unfaithful and I know I did wrong. Just as most of my songs this is a fiction story. I focused on an everyday experience and of how I would feel if it were true.”

Steven is also the producer of all of the songs that their new production will include. Some songs are co-written by Carlos Delgadillo and co-produced with J. Key.

Just a few weeks of its release, their new smash hit “PERDONAME” has received great feedback, consequently we couldn’t have expected any less, LA REPUBLIKA is a band that captivates and grasps you.

STEVEN CRUZ, whom at an early age learned music in a Catholic Church, proposed LA REPUBLIKA. Afterwards, he worked as a producer and composer. He’s been a key element in the success of many artists such as: Prince Royce, Toby Love, Tito El Bambino, Arkangel, and Chayanne among others.

LA REPUBLIKA has a special meaning to its members, since they searched for something different and after contemplating upon their possible names, “La Republica” came up, it’s meaning is a way of the government to have control of its people. Because of this; LA REPUBLIKA, believes that their core success will be the result of the love and response from their fans.

On the other hand, LA REPUBLIKA’s roots are in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and the band is extremely proud of their backgrounds. The name LA REPUBLIKA tailored to their true beings.
