Consisting of writer, producer, and singer Marty James, DJ MDA and emcee Z-Man, the group One Block Radius is known for their energetic, lighthearted brand of hip-hop. The California trio had been signed to major labels but the group decided to go independent route, in search of creative freedom. Not fitting into stereotypical roles of thugs or nerds OBR represents the lifestyle of the average Joe. One Block Radius' debut LP, Long Story Short, was released in 2005 on Avatar Records and distributed in the US by Fontana/Universal.
