Straight from the lush, humid tropics of Colombia comes, Rakel, a distinctive artist whose lyrics, composition and interpretation are the result of her remarkable tenacity to find means of expression throughout art and music. In her impressive debut album "Milagros Orgánicos" (Organic Miracles) due in the last quarter of 2011, her stunning voice, unique style and good vibe come through along with her artistic sensibility.

"Milagros Orgánicos" is the culmination of the artist’s earlier experience as an established fashion designer and overall visual artist. For this album, produced by five-time Grammy winner Iker Gastaminza, Rakel paired up with the best and brightest in the music industry. In addition to her own inspirational compositions Rakel also worked in collaboration with widely recognized songwriters such as Cristian Zalles (Ednita Nazario, Ricardo Arjona, Chayanne, Olga Tañón, Ricardo Montaner), Juan Gabriel Turbay (Andrés Cepeda, Melina León) and Javier García (Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan).

Her first single "Lo Que Respiras" ("What you Breathe") is already available on iTunes. This catchy and colorful pop song with touches of Dixieland music is already captivating fans! Her lyrics interlaced with bouncy, uplifting tunes uncover an artist who is deep and profound, centered and mature, without loosing an innocence, curiosity and zest!

Through music, Rakel has found relief to all of her life’s struggles, including dealing with the family’s disapproval of her love for art, and the early death of her father when she was only a teenager. With an unwavering passion for music, she perfected her writing and composition skills influenced by her studies in art and fashion.

Her young sensibility had an instant audience as "Lo Que Respiras" is quickly climbing the radio-charts in her native Colombia, while it is expected to penetrate Puerto Rico and the US-Latin market by September of 2011 with the same rush of excitement and force as it did in Colombia!

On early April of 2011 Rakel participated at the world's largest musical equipment trade-show "Musikmesse" in Frankfurt, Germany, performing at the GIBSON-guitars stage and DR-Strings booth.

Rakel’s video "Lo Que Respiras" was launched on MTV Latin America’s exclusive rotation on mid-April of 2011,. That same week her refreshing, yet intense act debuted in Miami and was transmitted live on her website (www.rakelmusic.com) with more than 4,000 views, and the very next day, Rakel’s showcase was presented to the Latin Music Industry at the 2011 Billboard BASH (during the Billboard Latin Music Conference 2011).

While the single "Lo Que Respiras" continues to scale the radio-charts, the video-clip is on high-rotation in MTV Latin America, HTV, Telemundo.com, Terra.com, Batanga, VH1.com as well as the most important Colombian TV-Networks, blogs and websites.
