Popland
Carla is different from all the girls and boys in her town; she wants to escape boredom and mediocrity. Everything is going fine with Diego, her first boyfriend, until prom day, when he made a huge mistake by telling her, "Let's settle down” in front of all her friends. Far from being excited, Carla runs away. She clearly sees this proposal as the first step towards becoming what she least wants to be in her life: one more girl in town settling for her first boyfriend. Our protagonist knows that it's time to take the greatest leap of her life. Carla is compelled to leave home and start a new life in the capital.
The big city isn't at all kind to Carla, but she will meet Ari, the hottest rock star of the hour. This encounter leads her to a secret, passionate and almost maddening affair. It’s also what allows her to get the photos that everyone wants to see. From one day to the next, Carla becomes the star paparazzi of Popland, the most popular gossip site around.
Working for "Popland", she has to survive the jealousy and demands of her boss, Katherina. Envy, competition and a secret fight for Ari's love make this relationship come and go ceaselessly between love, desire and hatred. Katherina is intelligent, manipulative, and she has the power to lead Carla down the road to glory or hell...and sometimes both at once.
At times, Carla's life seems to fall apart and her heart can't take the fast pace. Diego takes advantage of these moments to try to win her back. However, the adrenaline of her career and the potential for dazzling glory make her carry on. Carla feels as if she were in another world: she's finally found her place, a circle of people where she can be herself.
Carla's friends are her great lifesavers. Although they sometimes get into trouble and drag our protagonist into unbelievable situations, their relationship lasts and grows stronger. Carla is always there for them, helping them define who they are, learning to love and accept themselves, and evolve. Most of the time, they just have fun, especially since Carla has VIP access to open the clubs, stretch the red carpet, and have full access to any event that every teen wants to attend.
Her life and decisions are caught between her past, present and future. Between two "perfectly imperfect" and irresistible men, Carla has many questions to answer and a dizzying road ahead. Her biggest challenge is not letting herself get blinded by her own camera’s flash.
